Description

The CRISPR-cas system has revolutionized biological science. This gene editing tool has a powerful therapeutic potential, ranging from rare inherited diseases, to Alzheimer’s, cancer or bacterial infections. The biggest advantage of CRISPR technology is its simplicity to implement changes in DNA that remain stable, resulting in a truly edited genome. However, the implications of CRISPR are well beyond experimental science: are we ready to rewrite the human genome?'

Join us for an interactive panel discussion about the applications, promises, and technical challenges of this technology, and for a joint reflection on the new ethical boundaries and risks that it brings for biomedical research and our ways of dealing with genetic disease. Come prepared with your questions or submit them beforehand by emailing them to boston@ecusa.es

Registration is required. Please click "Register" (above) to sign up. The program will be in English and refreshments will be served.

We look forward to seeing you!
